Automated Node.js Deployment with Jenkins & Docker

A Node.js application with a Jenkins CI/CD pipeline that automates Docker image building, Docker Hub publishing, and application deployment using Docker Compose.

Automated Node.js Deployment with Jenkins & Docker

About this project

Node.js Application with Jenkins CI/CD Pipeline This project is a simple Node.js application built to demonstrate how a real-world CI/CD workflow can be set up using Jenkins and Docker. The pipeline takes care of the deployment process from start to finish. When the project is updated, Jenkins pulls the latest code from GitHub, builds a new Docker image, pushes the image to Docker Hub, and deploys the updated application using Docker Compose. I configured Jenkins as the CI/CD server and used Docker to keep the application environment consistent across builds and deployments. Docker Hub is used as the container image registry, while Docker Compose handles running the application on the deployment server. What I implemented * Set up a Jenkins CI/CD pipeline using a declarative `Jenkinsfile` * Connected Jenkins with a GitHub repository * Automated Docker image creation for the Node.js application * Configured Docker Hub authentication and image publishing * Automated application deployment with Docker Compose * Configured Jenkins credentials for securely accessing Docker Hub * Used a Jenkins agent to execute the pipeline and Docker commands * Containerized the Node.js application using Docker Technologies Used · Node.js · Jenkins · Docker · Docker Compose · Git · GitHub · Docker Hub The main goal of this project was to understand how code can move from a GitHub repository to a running application with minimal manual intervention, while keeping the build and deployment process repeatable and consistent.
